Share with fellow dog lovers!

KaleyA tiny shelter dog has made a big impression on The Big Bang Theory‘s Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, and has been cast in the real life role of the TV star’s canine companion.

The actress (and proud pet parent to multiple Pit Bulls) recently revealed via Instagram the she met little Ruby when filming an E! News segment at West Valley Animal Shelter in Chatsworth, California with a fellow famous friend of Fidos, Ali Fedotowsky– an entertainment news correspondent who made headlines when she helped to shine a spotlight on the plight of dogs in Sochi during the 2014 Winter Olympic games.

An A-list animal advocate who knows the difficulties that adult dogs face when sent to a shelter, the actress encouraged her fans to “…if you can, rescue a slightly older dog! They get the short end of the stick and end up living out their older days in shelters. Ruby is a dream. Calm, quiet and sweeter than candy.”

Over the course of her acting career Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting has used her celebrity status to draw attention to a number of paws causes, and when she found her new barking buddy she was helping to highlight the efforts of Operation Blankets of Love, a non-profit charity which provides dogs and cats in shelters, foster care or at rescues or sanctuaries with comfort items to calm their fears, thereby increasing their chances of finding a forever home.
