84*365: One Photo, Five Ways

Share with fellow dog lovers!

Today was a full day of spring housecleaning, followed this evening by some photos of a pet club chair from Enchanted Home™ Pet that we’re reviewing this week. Coco made the perfect model and Tiki (as usual) decided she should get in the picture, too…but there was just one problem: even with all of today’s cleaning, we didn’t mop the floor. We could see distinct paw prints. (In spite of appearances, don’t let Coco and Tiki make you believe they are tired from cleaning house today!)

Tomorrow’s plan is to mop the floor then we’ll reshoot the photos…but we wanted to see if we could salvage these photos with some fun post-production manipulation. We use Photoshop and have several actions installed to make the task easy…but, if you don’t have Photoshop, you can use free sites like Pixlr.com for many of the same effects. These are all made using The Pioneer Woman‘s free action sets.

First, I tried the Sepia filter…

…and then the Seventies filter…

The Seventies action is a popular one with Instagram users (although I have to admit it made me feel old since I remember those Seventies shots in real time!)

Next, I ran the Old West action, with a much softer focus than the Sepia filter…

Finally, I used my favorite of the actions on this photo: PW’s B&W action…

Next time, before you delete a photo that just doesn’t work for one reason or another, give some actions a try!

Do you have a pet photo you’ve run actions on? If so, please let us know what you used and upload your photo using the + link in the comments field below!
