With over 6,400 stores, AutoZone is the place you might head when you need car parts and accessories–but is AutoZone dog friendly? (And don’t forget: you might not PLAN on heading to AutoZone but find yourself have a car issue when out with your dog.)
Unless restricted by municipal regulations (or a manager’s preferences), most AutoZone locations are dog friendly! To determine if you and your dog will be welcome to shop together, check the AutoZone Store Locator then give your local store a quick call to confirm its dog-friendly status.
On AutoZone’s Facebook page, they even posted, “Paw-some! At AutoZone, we let our furry friends do the shopping. #GetInTheZone“
If your local AutoZone is dog friendly, you’ll need to keep your dog on a leash and at your side. Also, be watchful to prevent any accidents and, if one occurs, clean it up immediately. Your dog–and any dog messes–are completely your responsibility when shopping with your dog.
Share Your Photos on Social Media
If you take your dog to your local AutoZone, be sure to snap a photo to share on your favorite social channels. Use hashtag #GetInTheZone — and don’t forget to mention in which location you and your dog were shopping so other dog lovers will know this store is dog friendly!
Are Service Dogs Allowed in AutoZone?
Whether a particular AutoZone is dog-friendly or not, trained service dogs will be allowed entry with the person that they serve under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
This includes service dogs only–not emotional support dogs or therapy dogs.
A service dog is defined by the ADA as, “dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.“
If your dog is not a trained service dog, do NOT say that your dog as a service dog. Depending on the state, misprepresenting your dog as a service dog can carry a fine of up to $1000.
