As a professional skateboarder and rallycross driver he’s hell on wheels, but in the eyes of the dog he adopted from a shelter Bucky Lasek is heaven-sent, and now the multi-Summer X Games gold medalist has teamed up with Petco for a video that is helping to put the wheels in motion for a better tomorrow for homeless canines and cats by promoting the option of pet adoption.

Sharing the spotlight with his rad Rover, Jack– a German Shepherd mix found by his human family at a pound– the sports star is one of the animal-loving athletes in Petco’s new Think Adoption First celebrity video series, which is driving home the need to help the 6 – 8 million companion animals in shelters across America who are waiting for loving pet parents. Other famous sports figures who have shown dogged devotion for the paws cause include San Diego Padres starting pitcher Tyson Ross and his barking buddy, Maverick; Surfers Hall of Fame member Taylor Knox and his four-pawed pal, Penelope; and roller derby champion Bonnie Thunders and her furry friend, Freddie.

Petco and the Petco Foundation have partnered with thousands of animal welfare groups, and through in-store adoption events help more than 400,000 companion animals each year find forever homes.
