We’re so excited about our new book, Barkonomics: Tips for Frugal Fidos! For our 28th book, we studied a subject close to our home and our hearts: ways to save on your dog’s care.

In our research, we interviewed dog experts in all areas of dog care, from vets to groomers. Along with Paris’ academic background in Economics and our combined background in business writing, we set about finding ways dog lovers could reduce their costs while, at the same time, providing their dogs with a healthy, happy lifestyle.

The result: over 300 tips starting with obtaining your dog and continuing through all aspects of his life, from toys, treats, training and travel to food, medication, and veterinary expenses.

Barkonomics is Helping Pets

As mentioned above, 20 percent of the proceeds from Barkonomics will go toward helping pets through non-profit animal welfare agencies: rescues and shelters, pet food banks, and other efforts to rescue and adopt out homeless pets and to help those pet owners who need financial assistance.
