Soap Star Melody Thomas Scott Adopts a Shelter Dog

MelodyActress Melody Thomas Scott, who has portrayed the character of Nikki Newman on the hit daytime drama The Young & The Restless for more than 35 years, recently accepted a real life role as a loving pet parent to a shelter dog.

Reilly, a one-year-old Chinese Crested Terrier mix from the South Los Angeles Animal Shelter , has been cast as the Scott family’s new fur baby. The actress revealed to that she and her husband Ed Scott (a supervising producer on another CBS soap, The Bold & The Beautiful) fell in love with the pup while scouting for a location to shoot scenes for a three-episode B&B storyline which will promote pet adoption. Airing from April 30th through May 2nd, the pet-centric episodes will include actors Scott Clifton and Kim Matula, animal behaviorist Brandon McMillan from the CBS Saturday morning rescue-themed series Lucky Dog, and TV icon Bob Barker.

Now sharing the Scott household with her  two new four-legged siblings (dachshunds Luca and Lola), since her adoption little Reilly has enjoy posing for photos, which her famous Mom shares with fans on Twitter:
