Surf Dog Ricochet Raises Funds for Betty White’s Humane Heroes Club

Share with fellow dog lovers!

In life she was an angel who collected teddy bears for children in hospitals, and although 2011 Hero Dog Awards therapy dog finalist Stacey Mae recently crossed Rainbow Bridge, the love she left behind continues to encourage compassion.

While enjoying the 2012 Hero Dog Awards on October 6th, SURFice Dog Ricochet, the surfing dog who raises funds for a number of charities, and her Mom Judy Fridono heard the sad news that Stacey Mae had choked on a dog biscuit at home.  Although Stacey Mae’s pet parent Maria Madel made a valiant effort to revive her, she could not be saved.

In tribute to her fallen friend, Ricochet is hosting a fundraiser benefiting the organization which gave the two barking buddies a chance to meet to each other one year ago at the Hero Dog Awards– the American Humane Association.

As Ricochet’s chic awards attire– a one of a kind design by RL Couture by Lucy Medeiros– delighted doggedly devoted animal advocate Betty White at the second annual Hero Dog Awards (which included a special honor presented to the perennial Golden Girl) the fundraiser will support Betty White’s Humane Heroes Club, which was launched to help the American Humane Association’s Red Star Rescue teams. Betty White has pledged to match up to $25,000 in donations for the cause, and it’s Ricochet’s goal to raise the other $25,000.

All animal lovers who make a donation to the fundraiser will be entered to win their choice of either Ricochet’s awards dress (which features hand-crafted sequins, a double-layered full organza skirt and playful peacock feathers) and ‘paw’tographed photos of Ricochet posing with Betty White, Lisa Vanderpump and Giggy the Pom from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Victoria Stillwell, former Bachelor stars Jake Pavelka and Prince Lorenzo Borghese, child star Bailee Madison, Olympic gold medalist Ricky Berens and Edie McClurg and her 2012 hero dog, Gabe; or the boa worn by Stacey Mae on the night when she lapped up the limelight during the 2011 Hero Dog Awards, along with photos taken during the star-studded soiree.

Random.org will be used to select the winner.
