Kristin Bauer van Straten, who portrays an immortal on the hit HBO series True Blood, reveals her undying love for our four-legged friends in a new PSA for NKLA.
The star shares the screen with one of the leading men in her life– her dog, Asher. A former stray, five years ago the Rottweiler –who was the only dog at a Best Friends Animal Society adoption event who had not found a forever family–found a place in the actress’s heart and home that day, van Straten once confided to PeoplePets.
The PSA helps to shine a spotlight on No-Kill Los Angeles (NKLA), a Best Friends Animal Society initiative striving to end the euthanization of healthy or treatable companion animals in L.A. shelters. Established in 2012, the NKLA coalition helped to facilitate the adoption of 23,421 companion animals during its first year.
