121*365: Stop and Smell the (Wild)Flowers

Share with fellow dog lovers!

Although it looked at first like we might not have too many wildflowers in front of our house, little by little a few more have popped up. (Last summer’s drought took a real toll on many of the flowers.) This afternoon I went out to photograph Tiki and Irie (although Irie had a sudden bout of camera shyness) with the flowers.

Today’s quick shoot reminded me of an important tip: don’t edit too much until you can see the photos on your computer. Looking at the camera’s monitor, I would have been tempted to toss half the photos today. Tiki was too wiggly and seemed to move every time I snapped the shutter.

But then I would have missed the above photo of Tiki appearing to smell the flowers or this shot of Tiki looking like a sniff of the flowers has made her sneeze…

…or this photo of her ears flying!

It’s easy enough to edit photos once you see them on the computer. As you shoot, just enjoy taking photos…and stop and smell the flowers. You can weed those photos later!
