Our Experience and Credentials

Paris Permenter, cookbook author

I’m Paris Permenter, the founder of DogTipper. My husband, John Bigley, and I are pet parents to two rescue dogs, Barli and Isla, and we live in the country near Austin, Texas. I create the content for DogTipper, and John runs the technical side of the business.

John and I came to the pet writing world after 20 years as travel guidebook authors. We’ve written over 35 guidebooks including Texas with Dogs (Simon and Schuster), The Healthy Hound Cookbook (Simon & Schuster) and 2,000+ magazine and newspaper articles covering destinations ranging from Jamaica to Jordan, the Bahamas to Borneo. Our freelance pet work has appeared in publications ranging from Chewy to Rover. Since 2012, we have written the “Bowser on a Budget” column for FIDO Friendly magazine.
