163*365: Creating a Single Focal Point

This evening before our walk, John shot this photo of me with Irie. I thought it was a good illustration of the principle of having multiple subjects in your photo…but one focal point.
Irie and I are both subjects in the photo but, because Irie is looking at me, it draws the viewer’s eye to me, creating more of a single focal point.
You can use the principle in all kinds of ways such as pointing (either you or your dog) to the primary subject. Give it a try!
