365: Our Winter Hiking Route
During warm weather (which comprises the majority of our year), we have some wide hiking trails (and our dirt road) that we use for our twice-daily dog walks. With four kinds of venomous snakes in this area, we don’t head off cross-country through the woods…except on cold days.
This morning was one of those times, with cold temperatures that encouraged us to go off the beaten path and explore a bit with Irie and Tiki. For an hour this morning, we hiked around, taking a route that includes many stone ledges where we’d never dare go during warmer weather.
On the way home, I snapped this photo with my phone of these pear tree buds…it might have been a chilly morning, but these trees are saying that spring is on the way!
