Mighty Texas Dog Walk, Austin, TX, March 23, 2013

Share with fellow dog lovers!

Taking the phrase “Everything’s bigger in Texas” to heart, Service Dogs, Inc. (formerly known as Texas Hearing and Service Dogs) invites pet parents and their pups to help make history as Guinness Book of World Records titles are toppled at the 15th annual Mighty Texas Dog Walk.

Taking place at Auditorium Shores in Austin on March 23rd, a throng of dog devotees will enjoy a 1-mile constitutional around Lady Bird Lake with their canine companions, pick up free samples of dog products and take part in the event’s attempts to enter the record books for:

  • Biggest Fur Ball (the 2012 record, set at Mighty Texas Dog Walk in 2012, is 201 lbs.)
  • Most Dogs Wearing the Same Bandana
  • Most Dogs Eating the Same Treat
  • Most Dogs Doing Doga (Doggie Yoga)

A day of play with a purpose, this year’s Mighty Texas Dog Walk fundraiser celebrates the non-profit’s 25th anniversary and the more than 700 former shelter dogs who have been given a new lease on life as service or hearing dogs thanks to the organization.

Admission: Register online through March 22nd for $30 or by mail through March 15th for $30. Registration will also take place on March 16h at Austin’s Healthy Pet for $35, and at two Austin area Petco’s on March 21st for $35. Participants can also register on the day of the event for $35.
