Whew, January is FLYING by! I don’t know if it’s the extra enthusiasm and projects that a new year brings or the buzz working on all our upcoming special events, but this month is getting away from me. We’ve been really lucky in terms of weather and had mild days that have been perfect for long walks with the dogs. January is usually our coldest month…and recently we all went out for a walk and found some ice in the dogs’ “swimming pool”…but we hit over 80 degrees last week!

One big project we’ve got underway is Sunday’s #SuperDogPics Twitter party. I think it’s going to be so much fun with tons of prizes AND some great photography tips from Brett Chisholm over at Life+Dog magazine. One of my new year’s resolutions this year is to try to improve my dog photography so I can’t wait to see Brett’s tips!
Super Dog Sunday™
We’ve also been really busy getting ready for Super Dog Sunday on February 5. This event, which we’re co-hosting with AllThingsDogBlog.com, is a charitable event that’s completely benefiting Petfinder Foundation and the amazing work they do. As you know, we’ve used Petfinder several times when adopting our furry family members and we think they are such an incredible help to the rescue community.
A New Internet Service Provider??
This week we’ve also got an appointment with a potential new Internet service provider for us…fingers crossed! One of the toughest things about living in the country is the lack of good Internet service (no cable out here!) Right now we have satellite Internet service and we’ve had problem after problem with it so we’ve got a technician on the way out this week to measure the signal strength for another service.

We’re also so excited that we’ve got a new Adoptable Dog of the Day widget! We feature an Adoptable Dog of the Day every weekday and this widget will allow anyone to post this to their blog, automatically updating every day with a new photo of an adoptable dog!
