51*365: Using a Telephoto Lens

Share with fellow dog lovers!

Most cameras, whether you are using your cell phone’s camera, a point-and-shoot, or a DSLR, have a zoom lens. Some will have a much longer range than others but most will have the ability to zoom in closer to your subject without any movement on your part.

A zoom lens can be a great tool for dog photography, especially when photographing shy dogs like our Irie. While Tiki doesn’t mind a camera lens “looking” right at her, Irie gets anxious when the camera is too close. A zoom lens is the perfect tool for photographing her and putting more distance between her and the camera itself.

Have you zoomed in to take a photo of a dog that’s somewhat shy around the camera? If so, please leave a comment below and share your photo using the + link in the comments box!
