Happy 11th Gotcha Day to our Tiki! It’s hard to believe that 11 years ago we adopted this sweet five-month-old girl from what’s new Texas Humane Heroes. She’d been found the month before, sitting at the gate when the shelter workers arrived to open up in the morning.
We had gone to the shelter to look for the most outgoing, friendly dog we could find to help bring shy Irie out of her shell, and we sure found it in Tiki! Through the years, Tiki’s joy at meeting new people really rubbed off on Irie, and the two of them enjoyed 10 years of fun together.
After the loss of Irie, when it was time to bring a new dog into our family, Tiki was right there to help select her new best friend at the shelter–and she chose Barli, another shy dog she’s helped bring out of his shell and enjoy the fun of travel.
Today we’re headed out to enjoy a patio breakfast with Tiki and Barli to celebrate Tiki’s special day! Happy Gotcha Day, Tiki
