A Traveling Pug Stays at San Francisco Intercontinental Hotel

Share with fellow dog lovers!

The second in a three-part series “Fido Gets Frisky in Frisco,” canine correspondent Phoebe Rose and her Mom, Sheila Appleby Williams, from A Traveling Pug checks out the pet-friendly atmosphere at the San Francisco Intercontinental Hotel:

Downtown San Francisco-south of Market street (SOMA) is the location of the ultra modern San Francisco Intercontinental Hotel. Located directly adjacent to the Moscone West Convention Center, the InterContinental San Francisco occupies a strategic location for both business and leisure activities. San Francisco’s newest luxury hotel is also within easy walking distance of Union Square, premium shopping areas, a diverse collection of trendy and upscale restaurants and bars, and a number of major San Francisco tourist attractions.

Making new friends on the pet designated floor.

The 7th floor – designated for pets, features rooms and suites with floor to ceiling windows showcasing city views and easy access to the outside lounge area. Deluxe pet amenities are included. Referrals for dog sitters, groomers and pet boutiques from the congenial concierge. The staff is pet indulgent-Phoebe Rose could barely take a few steps before she received either a dog cookie or a chin scratch. There is a small grassy area for potty breaks in back of the hotel (or around the corner) and an accommodating staff member accompanied us to the area!

Several blocks away, the Victoria Manalo Draves Park (6th and Folsom) is a very nice “unofficial” off leash dog park- very popular after 5 pm and on weekends.

The Intercontinental hotel prides itself on going the extra mile for guests and offers a Club lounge with complimentary breakfast buffet (European style), afternoon tea and sweet dreams snacks and the ultimate in customer relations from staff members like, Gina and Shehani.

Unlimited beverages (including wine and beer) and complimentary Ipads-its no wonder some guests spend all day and most of the night here. For an extra $40- possibly the best deal in town! Pet fee is $50 per night.
