Wordless Wednesday: Tiki & Inca

With two dogs and four cats sharing our house, there are a lot of relationships going on here. Dog-dog. Cat-cat. Dog-cat.

One of the most unique relationships is that of Tiki and Inca. Inca is the smallest member of the family, weighing just seven or so pounds. Inca had been a stray, been picked up by animal control, and after a month’s stay at the shelter, we adopted her three years ago. She was about six months old at the time.

With that background and with her small size, you might think Inca would be wary of our large dogs. No. Inca is fascinated by our dogs. If one of us is brushing a dog, here comes Inca for her turn. If a dog walks by and doesn’t stop to acknowledge Inca, she gives them a little swat. Inca is especially intrigued by Tiki’s tail. She never fails to bat at Tiki’s tail when she walks by and even goes so far as to rub herself all over Tiki’s tail when she’s sleeping (as above).

Inca always likes to come over and check out Tiki’s plate and watch her eat:

In the evenings, they both like to hang out in front of the TV together:

Inca is a great buddy to both dogs and, somehow or another, has let them know that in this house, she’s to be considered Top Dog!
