Looking Back at 2010

We were just looking back at a similar post we wrote at the end of 2009, the end of DogTipper’s first full year in business. With the help of our always-eager product testers (who remind us to step away from the computers at least twice a day), our site has doubled in size…what a busy year it has been!

  • Barkonomics: Tips for Frugal Fidos, our first dog-related book (28th book in all but first about dogs!), hit the shelves in late October.
  • We exhibited and signed books at the Texas Pet Expo in November in the Dallas area.
  • We attended two Hollywood events with a special emphasis on celebrity dog lovers: the Silver Spoon Dog and Baby Buffet and a special gifting suite honoring 2010 Emmy Awards Nominees and Presenters.
  • We converted our site to WordPress.
  • In April, we attended the very first BlogPaws conference, and Paris spoke on a panel about monetizing your blog. The conference was a real turning point for our site as we met so many fellow pet bloggers and industry professionals.
  • In September, Paris attended BlogPaws West in Denver, sponsored by Cesar Cuisine. (John was all set to attend, airline tickets and all…then along came Tropical Storm Hermine.) On a personal note, an accomplishment was that we were spared serious house damage after the 14 inches of rain that tropical storm brought us!
  • We had the chance to meet several television celebrities from Animal Planet and National Geographic Channel: Andrea Arden, Shorty Rossi, and Rescue Ink.

And we’ve got lots planned for 2011. Stay tuned tomorrow for more about our plans!
