Actress Millie Bobby Brown, who has portrayed a young girl with psychokinetic and telepathic powers in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things and a teen sleuth that shares a famous surname in the Netflix Enola Holmes movies, recently stepped into her real life role of an animal advocate to help a pup who is waiting for the day when he can star in the life of a forever pet parent.

The animal-loving actress and her fiance Jake Bongiovi recently paid a visit to the adoptables at the no-kill shelter Humane Society Naples, where the couple met Shark (now known as Jabba).

The pup will be fostered by Brown and Bongiovi before finding a forever home through Joey’s Friends, an animal rescue group the actress supports.

In celebration of the star’s visit, Humane Society Naples have renamed one of their four-legged residents, stating:

“In honor of Millie’s generosity, we are happy to say one of our current HSN dogs, Big Brown, has been renamed after Millie. Thank you again for visiting HSN and giving Shark an opportunity as big as his personality!”

The shelter’s recently dubbed Millie Bobby Brown is a 3-year-old mixed breed dog who was originally rescued from Dominica.

Not only does Millie Bobby Brown help homeless animal find forever families, the actress (who is a proud pet parent to several dogs, cats, rabbits, goats and more) also shows that compassion is always in fashion through her Florence by Mills pet collection, which includes pet apparel, toys, and other accessories.  Found at Kanine.com, a portion of the proceeds benefit animal welfare organizations.
