Known for their soaps, scents and candles, over 1700 Bath and Body Works stores are found across the US and Canada with overseas locations as well. But are Bath and Body Works stores dog friendly?
Are Dogs Allowed in Bath and Body Works
Although there is no brand-wide policy, dogs are welcome at most Bath and Body Works stores IF they are not located inside a mall that prohibits pets. Most indoor malls are restricted to service dogs only so, unless the store had its own exterior entrance, those mall stores would not be able to accommodate your dog.
As always, our advice is to give your local store a quick call and confirm that the location welcomes dogs.
Many animal lovers enjoy shopping at Bath and Body Works because of their policy of selling products that are not tested on animals. According to their website, “None of our products are tested on animals, and we do not sell products anywhere that requires animal testing.”
The company is also working to end animal testing across the globe. “Because we are committed to eliminating animal testing worldwide, our company is an active supporter and a Science Advisory Panel member of the Institute for In Vitro Sciences (IIVS) – a nonprofit research and testing laboratory dedicated to the implementation and regulatory acceptance of non-animal methods – and we serve as a member of the Industry Council for the Advancement of Regulatory Acceptance of Alternatives (ICARAA).”
Share Your Photos on Social Media
You’ll find plenty of examples of four-legged shoppers at Bath and Body Works stores on social media!
In fact, Bath and Body Works shares dog photos themselves:
Are Service Dogs Allowed in Bath and Body Works?
You may bring a trained service dog that is required to assist you in any Bath and Body Works store under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In some states, you can also bring a service dog in training–but that depends on the state laws governing service dog in training access.
In fact, the store notes on their Facebook page: “At Bath & Body Works, we strive to provide an exceptional store experience to everyone who visits our stores including guests who may require the support of a service animal.”
NOTE: If your dog is not a trained service dog, do not bring your dog to a Bath and Body Works store that isn’t dog-friendly and try to misrepresent your dog as a service dog. Depending on the location, misprepresenting your dog as a service dog can carry a fine of up to $1000.
