Like most of the luxury hotel dog beds Eloise produces, the Much Love bed is square. We found out why in a letter from Vickie Wagner, President of Eloise Pet Accessories. I started making dog beds because any dog bed out there 10 years ago was a round snuggle bed, and I did extensive research with a chiropractor about why they were seeing so many domesticated dogs with spinal problems and joint problems. I found out that those cute snuggle beds are not so good for your dog. Dogs, just like people, move around all night, and if you had to keep your arm in a bound area, you would develop pain in your joints and soreness in your muscles. Picture yourself sleeping, and having your hand pressed up against a wall all night, get the picture? Well, that is what those adorable snuggle beds do.”
Our sample bed arrived shipped in a vacuum-packed sack. One shake and the bed was fluffy again; we placed it in the living room to have a good look. Our dog Tiki had already seen the bed, though, and decided to give it a true test.
This small size bed measures 25×25 inches; the bed also comes in medium (30×30) and large (35×35), plus many Eloise beds also come in a rectangular XLG size. The zippered, removable cover is machine washable on cold and can be machine dried on low; the 5-inch pillow insert is designed to stay fluffy and last about five years. The cover (this one is Much Love Little Lime but it also comes in Much Love Blue Bird) is made of cotton and Hampton Twill:
One feature we especially loved (and maybe Tiki, remembering her rescue origins, liked it, too) is the embroidered “I HEART Rescue Dogs” stitched on each side of the pillow.
Whether it’s the square shape, the cute colors, or the the terrific rescue fundraising effort behind this bed, we know one thing: it’s a big hit with our Tiki. Since its arrival, every nap and evening snooze has been spent on the Eloise Much Love Bed. Tiki gives it a four paws up (literally, since she likes to sleep on her back!)
