Our Day at Lake Georgetown

Share with fellow dog lovers!

Well, the calendar may say it’s autumn…but summer is sticking around here in Central Texas. We took advantage of the warm weather to give Irie and Tiki another swim day, this time enjoying a day trip at nearby Lake Georgetown.

The US Corps of Engineers parks that line this lake on the San Gabriel River are dog-friendly (except for the improved swimming beach at Russell Park). Dogs must remain on leashes no longer than six feet.

Irie and Tiki loved their day swimming and exploring. Irie likes to swim but Tiki prefers just to stand in the shallow water.

The native grasses were taller this year than I’ve ever seen them, evidence of the wet summer and fall we’ve enjoyed.

It was a beautiful day — and we almost had the lake all to ourselves!

Beautiful pictures! The picture of Tiki with her beautiful tail up is a great picture. Today will be in the low 80's and tomorrow the 60's. The leaves are just now turning. Schooner and Skipper love walking on the beach so next week we hope to walk the beach.

That sounds so wonderful! Our leaves won't start to turn for about another month...but we should have cool(er?) temperatures here before the end of the month. Tiki is so funny with her tail...she keeps "the plume" up out of the water whenever she can!! I hope Schooner and Skipper get to go to the beach next week!!
