With over 1200 stores across the country featuring merchandise under $5, you might be wondering if dogs are allowed in Five Below.
The answer is–maybe. Read below to find out the Five Below response to the question and how to find out if your local Five Below store will let your dog shop with you.
Is Five Below Pet Friendly?
As with many national chains, the decision of whether or not a particular Five Below location is pet friendly is left up to the local store. Some locations of Five Below are dog friendly!
When asked on Facebook if Five Below is dog friendly, the store responded, “we do not have a specific policy that addresses dogs in our store: we do ask anyone with a dog to be mindful of other customers who may have an allergy or fear of dogs. We also ask that they are kept with their owner at all times.”
How do you know if your local store allows dogs? Just give them a call before you go! Check the Five Below store locator and call your local store before you and your dog head out.
If your local store doesn’t permit dogs, please leave your dog at home–then pick up a surprise for him or her at the store. A few years ago, I shopped at Five Below for dog toys and beds for a toy drive we were hosting to benefit the shelter where we’d adopted Barli. They have many dog items (and cute dog sweaters, too!)
Are service dogs allowed at 5 Below?
Service dogs fall under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and are allowed in public places that may or may not be pet friendly. These are only “Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.“
If a store is not pet friendly and you are entering with a service dog, the service dog must be with the person he is trained to serve. (So if your husband has a service dog, you cannot take him to a store that doesn’t allow dogs; the service dog has to be in the service of the person he serves.)
